Some accessories have no other purpose except the esthetic one but, this time, we’re going to put them aside and deal with an accessory that’s functional, stylish and has a long tradition- a hat. Originally designed to protect soldiers and workers from possible injuries, hats haven’t exactly been the most stylish headwear. However, their strong fashion potential came out to the surface very soon and the styles started multiplying with the impressive speed. Men used to tilt or completely remove their hats when a woman is present in order to express respect and even liking. Women adored the “Wow” effect complicated, posh formal hat styles provided. Things are now a bit different than they were back in the old times, but one thing still hasn’t changed- the need and interest for hats.

Whether it’s a glamorous wide brim hat, sporty baseball cap, a visor or a small, cute fedora, a hat is a necessary piece of any summer style. It will shield you from the sun and prevent it’s negative effects taking a toll on your hair, face and general health. Scorching summer heat makes wearing a protective headwear necessary, that’s for sure. But even when it comes to hats, not everything goes. A wisely picked hat can make the entire outfit look better so you should have that in mind when shopping for the piece that’s going to cover and decorate your pretty little head this summer.

A winter hat is as equally decorative and useful as the summer one. It’s main purpose is to keep us warm and protected from the rain and snow but let’s not forget it’s style aspects too. A cute, colorful knitted hat is definitely going to stand out of the gray, gloomy environment so picking a bright red or orange hat that matches your brown outfit is a fun and easy way to add a bit of life and color to your standard dark winter clothes.

Decorative, glamorous hats like fascinators and elaborate headpieces have been the ultimate fashion accessory for many decades now. And, unlike many other popular trends women have tried out and threw away after a season or two, formal hats remained a popular way to express fashion-consciousness and social status. They are a popular choice of many celebrities, stylish women and are even a very common piece of a bride’s wedding attire.
