Being the last year’s hit, big bags are allegedly out for this season, but it’s not over until the ladies say so and they are not ready to give up the perfect combination of usefulness and style only a big bag can provide.

So, what are the reasons that made big bags stick and become more than a one season’s accessory? And moreover, what are their advantages over the micro clutches?  Well, the first and the most obvious reason is the size. Most women whose daily routine requires having a make-up bag, a spare outfit and a notebook/books/paperwork with them at all times consider huge bags a gift from God. Is it because of the fast, modern lifestyle or because women just love having all their prized possessions at hand, we can’t say for sure. But these trendy babies found many supporters all over the world.  Clutch, in the other hand, can hold a credit card, lipstick and a pocket mirror which is… well… pretty depressing because even if you see your make-up needs fixing, you have nothing to do it with.

If clutches are so unpractical, what is the point of mentioning them and doing all this extensive comparison? Well, although a clutch is not exactly a perfect everyday bag, some occasions do require that refined, glamorous, diva look only a well matched clutch can provide. An upscale cocktail party or a Sex And The City-like night out with girlfriends just wouldn’t feel right without a stylish accessory like a shiny, sequined clutch. When it comes to clubbing and social gatherings, you’ll do better without a huge, heavy bag you can’t place anywhere. Not to mention that people won’t appreciate you bumping into them with a monster bag. So, yes, clutch is a lifesaver and a style booster after all.
